India has historically failed to meet its power sector targets by a significant margin and with tremendous opportunities ahead; the power sector continues to be affected by the shortfall both on generation as well as transmission line. Per capita electricity consumption in India is just 631 units in comparison to World’s average of 2300 units.
Montecarlo is selectively tapping these opportunities to enlarge its presence in distribution segment. With the success of RAPDRP, private participation is on the rise in the transmission and distribution space, with players being awarded under the franchisee route. The losses during power transmission and distribution are projected to come down to about 15% during the 12th Five Year Plan from the present 29%.
Presently the company is spreading its distribution network in the various cities of Madhya Pradesh and is exploring opportunities to adopt the franchisee route under individual or partnership mode. The spectrum of services offering by Montecarlo includes, Design & Construction of High voltage distribution substation, Installation and Re-conductoring of existing lines, Installation of 11kV low voltage overhead lines, distribution transformers as well as feeder renovation works & metering, Urban Area Power Quality improvement Projects and Installation of Transmission towers and EHV transmission lines, Implementation of turnkey solutions of Instrumentation & Control system including PLC/DCS & SCADA System, etc.
